Lacee J. Hartzell, sales manager, Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers

MARQUETTE — Lacee J. Hartzell, sales manager at Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers, recently received her Diamonds Graduate diploma from Gemological Institute of America. To earn her GIA Diamonds Graduate diploma, Hartzell completed two written courses on diamonds and a one-week lab course, as well as passed a proctored written exam and hands-on diamond grading test.

“I am incredibly proud of Lacee,” said Chris Wattsson, owner of Wattsson & Wattsson Jewelers. “There are very few GIA trained professionals in the Upper Peninsula. It requires a lot of time and travel to complete the required courses. To see her go above and beyond to learn a new skill and continue her education to offer the best service to her clients has been inspiring.”

Using her training, Hartzell will now offer diamond grading and appraisals at the store. This is the first of three credentials Hartzell is pursuing in her Graduate Gemologist degree.
