Ishpeming has plenty to offer for 4th

Gabi Kautz, GINCC

The 4th of July is right around the corner — how do you plan to celebrate?

Ishpeming has you covered in terms of fun!

It all begins on Tuesday, July 3 with the Festival of Treasures street fair! This takes place downtown Ishpeming, mostly on Main Street, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be live music, food, sidewalk sales and vendors, artists and crafters, and more. There’s something for everyone! Interested vendors can call 906-486-8621.

On Wednesday, July 4, head downtown to get a good spot for the parade, starting at 10:30 a.m. This year’s parade theme expresses thanks and appreciation to our local educators. The parade grand marshal for 2018 is retired educators of Ishpeming and Westwood school districts. If you or anyone you know is interested in being featured in the parade as a retired educator, please email trodda@bankmbank.com. Parade applications are available to pickup at the GINCC office, 910 U.S. 41 West, Ishpeming. Come celebrate America’s Independence in Ishpeming for the 39th consecutive year!

Right after the parade, picnic festivities will begin at Al Quaal! This will be a fun all-day event for the whole family. Free bounce house, kid’s games, softball and kickball, food vendors, craft and vendor booths, and live music! JAB will play live music starting at 6 p.m. up until the fireworks at dusk.

There are no excuses to be bored on this 4th of July! The Ishpeming Business Association and Ishpeming 4th of July Committee are working hard to ensure these events are exciting, fun and memorable for all.
