TEMPLE, TX - Mr. Kauppila, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Temple, Texas Veterans Home. He was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Ishpeming, Mich., to Harold and Aili Kauppila. He attended Western Michigan University before joining the Marine Corps, where he served as a fighter pilot. He worked as a pilot for Delta Air Lines from 1964 to 1991.
