TEMPLE, TX – Mr. Kauppila, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Temple, Texas Veterans Home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Ishpeming, Mich., to Harold and Aili Kauppila. He attended Western Michigan University before joining the Marine Corps, where he served as a fighter pilot. He worked as a pilot for Delta Air Lines from 1964 to 1991. He married Carla Kauppila on March 17, 1973, in Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his wife; and son, Paul Kauppila.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna Kauppila Morris of Temple and Eva Kauppila of Brattleboro, Vt.; a brother, Don Kauppila of The Villages, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Services for Ronald Paul Kauppila, 89, will be held in June 2027 in Marquette, Michigan.
