Ishpeming-Negaunee’s Ryan bowls 219 high game at Whirl-I-Gig

L’ANSE — Junior Killian Ryan of the Ishpeming-Negaunee boys team rolled the highest score of the day at the Whirl-I-Gig in L’Anse during an Upper Peninsula Bowling Conference high school meet held Saturday. About half of the conference teams were also competing at Miller’s Recreation in Laurium, including most Westwood teams, but scores weren’t available from that site. Sentinels eke out swimming sweep of Kingsford

MARQUETTE — The teams split their victories almost right down the middle, but Marquette had a just a few extra strokes left in the tank — or maybe in the pool — to barely pull out a sweep over visiting Kingsford at a high school swimming and diving meet held Thursday afternoon at the MSHS pool.
