Westwood, Negaunee post Thursday wins

MARQUETTE — Westwood kept its name among the strongest teams in the Upper Peninsula by defeating Marquette 7-1 in a high school girls tennis meet held at the Sentinels’ courts on Thursday. NEGAUNEE — Maybe it wasn’t the gales of November that Gordon Lightfoot so eloquently sung about in “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” but some wind on Wednesday afternoon presented a challenge to the Negaunee High School girls tennis team.
