Marquette boys, girls get job done at MHSAA ski regionals

BELMONT — The usual suspects will likely be the favorites to win state championships in MHSAA Division 1 skiing coming up in less than two weeks. Marquette and two Traverse City schools — Central and West — swept the top-three team positions in both boys and girls meets at the D-1 regional held at the Cannonsburg Ski Hill just outside Grand Rapids on Monday. Marquette edges Soo, Patriots fall

SAULT STE. MARIE — The Marquette Senior High School girls basketball team picked up its third win in four games by traveling to Sault Ste. Marie and defeating the Blue Devils 53-51 on Tuesday evening. Avery Osborne continued lighting up the scoreboard for the Sentinels, on this night to the tune of 23 points, to hand the Soo just their third loss of the season. Marquette posts quintet of 4-time swim, dive winners

MARQUETTE — Five swimmers and divers each won four events for Marquette Senior High School as the Sentinels swamped Manistique at a high school boys and girls swimming and diving meet held at the MSHS pool on Friday. The Marquette girls prevailed 129-47 while the Sentinels boys were triumphant 119-44.
