Good news here

To the Journal editor: A few weeks ago, I wrote this publication about the difficulty Upper Peninsula kids on the Upper Peninsula Health Plan had in obtaining medical care close to home in nearby Wisconsin. The letter I sent to this paper was filled with rage at the injustice of having to take a child to lower Michigan instead of being allowed access to care in nearby Wisconsin. I knew I was not the only parent of a child on Medicaid facing such injustice. To the Journal editor: Spring is on the way. Have you noticed the days are longer and we might get more snow, but it should melt faster. Get out and enjoy the great outdoors. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan has a lot of beauty each season. I’ve been reading articles written by others to improve your health by getting off the tech stuff, smartphones, computers. This might be seen as a funny joke on the changing coastline of the largest freshwater lake by area in the world and the healthiest Great Lake. To the Journal editor: Cal Thomas, in a recent column, describes the horrible gun massacre in Russia, and asks “Could it happen here?” He them goes on to ramble about immigrants to our southern border, none of whom have ever perpetrated a mass shooting. Does Mr. Thomas not notice that the U.S. has mass shootings almaot every day, and that the cause is not immigrants seeking a better life, but instead is easy access to guns.

To the Journal editor: The historic significance of what President Jimmy Carter Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin did in September 1978, cannot be overestimated. They established a framework for a historic peace treaty concluded between Israel and Egypt in March 1979 and is still holding firmly to this day.
