To the Journal editor: If you voted for Donald Trump, did you want a billionaire with no government experience to push aside Congress who the Constitution designated as the entity controlling the federal purse strings to take control of the federal budget? To the Journal editor: As a kid, I loved Scouts. I proudly wore the khaki uniform and carried the American flag at community events. I was proud that my father fought for freedom in World War II against the imperial Japanese and that my uncle fought for democracy in Europe against Hitler. In high school, I had the life-changing experience of being an exchange student and living with a family in Bangkok, Thailand. I was proud that our country supported free countries like Thailand. To the Journal editor: The proposed U.S. House Budget slashes taxes for the wealthy and funding for federal programs. What does this mean for our district? Below is only the tip of the iceberg: 1. The wealthiest 1% will save over $300,000 in taxes 2. Large corporations and CEO’s will save $2 trillion dollars 3. Dog owners impacted

To the Journal editor: Once in a while, I enjoy a walk at the Marquette Township well field. The entrance is located near the corner of Grove Street and South Vandenboom. The township built a 1.5-mile-long gravel road to access a wellhouse. It is an especially nice place to walk because the township provided a small parking lot, there is no traffic, the woodland is beautiful, the Noquemanon trails intersect the road at several points, and it is fun to see the dogs running and playing.
