Protest was OK

Congratulations to your American Spirit, leading the current Americans on a particular protest on Feb. 19. You captured my soul. Also, usually, Yoopers are conservative, but no more! Musk must be ignored. Holding and waving that chainsaw is a big insult to us loggers. Good work, good signs.

Mutual pledge to each other

The good news, all of us agree Democracy is the only stable form of government. Bad news, the power of the citizens to hold government in check is under threat by a minority of nefarious individuals’ side-stepping Constitutional rules and feeding disinformation and fear to the masses. It’s rumored he’s somewhere here in District One while on recess. But, where is our “Waldo?” Inquiries at his regional offices have turned up few leads. There are rumors and speculations he was seen here in the UP, but where? Is he at ...

Rep must step up

To the Journal editor: U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman, R-Watersmeet, put his hand on the Bible and swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution. Now the Trump administration repeatedly violates the Constitution and our member of Congress sits back and approves. I wish we had representatives who stood up and fought for us and didn’t just roll over and play dead. Sincerely, JIM SMIT Marquette
