MARQUETTE, MI- Madeleine Joy Prout Alderson, 90, of Marquette, died Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Medilodge of Munising. She was born April 14, 1934, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, a daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Gonyon) Prout. Madeleine attended Brescia Hall University of Western Ontario. She earned a Master’s degree from NMU. She worked in civil service in recreation in France, Okinawa, Korea and at KI Sawyer until 1993. She also taught in the English Department at NMU for 12 years.
