ISHPEMING, MI ­ James Allen (Jim) Solka, age 89, a longtime resident of National Mine, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility.

He was surrounded by the loving care of his family, UP Home Health and Hospice, and the compassionate staff at MCMCF.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
