MARQUETTE — Authorities have released the name of the 23-year-old Champion man arrested Monday after leading police on a high-speed motorcycle chase.

Hunter Prisk was arraigned on Wednesday morning in 96th District Court. Charges included felony fleeing a police officer, reckless driving, operating a vehicle with a revoked driver’s license, and operating a vehicle without security (insurance).

Bond was set at $10,000. At press time, Prisk was still in custody.

On Monday night after an Ishpeming police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop of a black Kawasaki motorcycle near the intersection of Jasper Street and Summit Street in the Ishpeming city limits, the motorcycle driver failed to stop and accelerated, fleeing.

A pursuit was initiated, which led officers through Negaunee to Marquette County Road 480, then to M-553.

The pursuit ended on M-94 near Engman Lake Road in Skandia, when the motorcycle driver pulled over and stopped.

The male subject was taken into custody and transported to the Marquette County Jail where he was lodged on several charges.

Ishpeming PD was assisted by the Negaunee Police Department, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, the Chocolay Township Police Department and the Forsyth Township Police Department.
