Have you ever heard about Jamaica? Jamaica was a very important part of Columbus’s journey to India. He went there in search of clean water. Once he arrived in Jamaica, he thought he had reached India because there were Indians there that had already discovered Jamaica, but most people claim Columbus discovered Jamaica. The way I found out about the information above was on a bus ride to the Jamaican resort I was going to. It was exactly like a history class on wheels.
After we arrived at the resort we had several excursions. The first excursion was Dunn’s River Falls, where you can actually climb the waterfall. The scenery was gorgeous and extremely lively. At about halfway up there is a deep spot where you are allowed to jump in.
When I got back to the resort I went snorkeling and saw a Lionfish, several neon blue and yellow fish, a whole bunch of stingrays, and some swordfish.
Then we took another bus to the Martha Brae River to go ziplining up in the trees. On the first zipline, my little brother came to an abrupt stop right in the middle of the line. He was scared to do the next line but that one worked fine. Afterward, we went tubing in the Martha Brae River, and at the end, we were jumping off a cement area.
After the Martha Brae, we returned to the resort. Later that night I went to a restaurant at the resort. It was a restaurant that we had to make reservations for, and the food was really good. I ordered pizza, which is surprising, we were in Jamaica, not Italy, but it was an Italian restaurant. My little brother ordered spaghetti.
When dinner was over, we went to the stage in the pool area. There were performers doing crazy tricks, one person even ate fire! The announcer was very funny, he had people come up from the audience. My brother and I went up to do the limbo…of course, he did better than me because he’s smaller than me, but I still got pretty far. I had a lot of fun watching the show.
The next night we went to the Luminous Lagoon, a place where at night if you go in the water it glows. We went out on the boat and went to the center of the lagoon. SPLASH!!! We jumped in and the water started glowing We had a fun time at the Luminous Lagoon. We went to the show again but this time, Parker, my little brother fell asleep on the chair.
When we didn’t have a dinner reservation there was a huge buffet where we went for most of the days. I was allowed to have five desserts.
I had such a good time in Jamaica. it’s a good place to escape the snow. I am going to go back to Jamaica this year for my birthday this December, and I am very excited to go back. I hope you have enjoyed the article.
