This painting job rocks

Lucia Glime, 15, left, and her 12-year-old sister Sophie Glime were busy Monday painting a large rock along M-95 on the former Advantage Excavating property just north of the north junction in Breitung Township. The two, visiting family in the Upper Peninsula from Salt Lake City along with mother Sara Demko, were enlisted by aunt Sue Nanninga to decorate the rock along the highway, which “https://ogden_images.s3.amazonaws.com/www.miningjournal.net/images/2023/07/26084731/Painting-Rock1-1100×733-1-750×500.jpg” alt=”” width=”750″ height=”500″ class=”alignnone size-medium wp-image-1123519″ />had been painted more than a decade ago by neighboring children but had since faded. The girls picked out the purple background color, “Pansy Garden,” at Home Depot, with the other paints ordered online. An advisory to passing motorists at night: Some of the paint used glows in the dark, so don’t be unnerved if a few of the flowers or smiley face are visible after the sun goes down.
