Dance students attend Nationals

MARQUETTE — Three students from New Attitudes Dance Studios stepped out of their comfort zone and attended Nationals this year for the first time.

According to a New Attitudes news release, the students qualified for nationals by attending a regional event of Midwest Starz in Green Bay this spring. Nationals were held in Wisconsin Dells.

There were 1,887 numbers in total that competed at the event. All dancers receive an adjudication. Some dancers also receive additional awards. The girls were proud to represent their community at this event. Placements and special awards for the dancers are listed below.

“Uma Thurman,” Josie, Platinum + 3rd overall category jazz

“I Love It,” Delia, High Gold + Judges Energy Award

“Enchanted,” Josie, Platinum + 2nd overall category lyrical, + 7th overall division (all styles combined)

“What Else Can I Do,” Izzy, High Gold
