Marquette County declares local state of emergency

MARQUETTE — Marquette County has sustained widespread damage caused by runoff of rapidly melting snow pack exacerbated by additional rainfall. As a result, Marquette County Board of Commissioners Chairman Gerald Corkin has declared that a local state of emergency exists in accordance with Section 10 of 1976 Public Act 390.

These county agencies have been activated to support the response and recovery efforts of municipal and township agencies: the Marquette County Road Commission, Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, Marquette County Emergency Management, Marquette County Emergency Operations Center and Marquette County Resource Management.
