Considering the pros and cons of snow days

Snow days have pros and cons. I mean it’s probably obvious that there are more pros than cons, but technically, you could say otherwise. One pro is that you get a day off from work or school, and you would get to spend time with family and friends. Another pro is that there is usually a fresh blanket of snow on the ground so you could go sledding with friends, hike, have a snowball fight, make a snow angel, or create a snowman. One other pro we need to add to the list that everyone loves is sleeping in, I mean who wouldn’t want to? But, one con is running out of snow days, which would either mean having to do a makeup day at the end of the year or doing online school. Don’t get me wrong, online school isn’t that bad, all you have to do is complete a couple of papers that your teacher sent home with you, and that’s about it. You do have to go to two Zoom classes but from what I know they are only about ten to fifteen minutes long. Or you have a make-up day which basically means you just have an extra day at the end of the year.
Here is a recent snow day that I experienced. The day before the snow day my family and I already knew of the coming storm, and I, for one, decided to stay up for the whole night, hoping it was a snow day. I totally didn’t fall asleep at 10:30 p.m. When I woke up I immediately realized it was a snow day, because it was 8:45 a.m. and school started at 9:00 a.m., and no one woke me up. I went downstairs and started to make myself breakfast. I wondered what I should do.
I thought about messaging my friend to see if he could play, but I decided against that idea because it was only 9:00 a.m. in the morning. By then both my parents and my brother were awake and downstairs eating breakfast. All my brother seemed to want to do was play on the Nintendo. I of course wanted to do that too, but I also wanted to go get some candy and play with my friends. After I finished breakfast, got dressed, and made my bed I played some Minecraft. Afterward, I decided to message some of my friends. Unfortunately, both of them were skiing so I amused myself by going outside, playing with my brother, and eating.
I know it’s April, but this is Marquette and you never know what’s going to happen.
