ISHPEMING — The Ishpeming Police said they found the person who was driving a vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run on County Road on Wednesday.

Police say the driver was identified at 6 a.m. on Thursday, but no other information has been provided in the ongoing investigation.

The IPD was called to a car versus pedestrian accident at approximately 7:14 p.m. on Wednesday at 440 Ready Street, also known as County Road or BR 28.

According to an IPD press release, police located a 31-year old man from Marquette with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

It’s suspected that he was hit by a pick-up truck, and authorities worked to locate the vehicle and driver overnight.

The name of the pedestrian has not been released.
