Boating restrictions are off base
To the Journal editor:
As a lifelong area resident and an avid fisherman, I ‘m absolutely amazed at the absurdity of the boating restrictions.
The non-motorized marine vessels being first and foremost on my mind.
Me and a lifelong friend, (who I also care take for), cannot use a motor because of increased social contact, i.e. fueling or servicing of our boat. That’s simply absurd.
Yet restaurants do take out, dipensaries dispense, liquor still flows freely, yet two guys in a boat, actually trying to social distance and put food on the table can be fined a $1,000?
We support all of aforementioned establishments, but I also believe in our ability to safely social distance and enjoy a day on the water with good company and perhaps a fresh fish dinner in the process?
