MARQUETTE — Innovate Marquette SmartZone recently announced an expansion of its marketing team with the hire of Chad Leisenring as event coordinator.

Leisenring, an Escanaba native, graduates from Northern Michigan University in May with a degree in mathematics and computer science. With a strong interest in the graphic design field, he joined the Invent@NMU team as a student graphic designer in the fall of 2018, a program of NMU that Innovate Marquette SmartZone manages. His current responsibilities include assisting in the creation of promotional materials, working closely with clients on website and brand development, and event ideation and execution.

“During my time at Invent@NMU, I have been able to enhance my abilities, learn new skills, and connect with inventors and entrepreneurs,” Leisenring said in a press release. “I look forward to continuing to grow with this new position and share my excitement for the program with the community in interactive and interesting ways.”

While working at Innovate Marquette SmartZone, Leisenring will focus on planning and managing logistics of upcoming events to enhance and grow Marquette’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and the SmartZone and Invent@NMU customer base.
