Yoop-phoria the perfect place to treat yourself

With a variety of mouthwatering delights — specifically frozen yogurt — Yoop-phoria is the perfect place for anyone looking to treat themselves in Marquette’s downtown district.

Since owners Tami and Robert Blotter opened the doors to their self-serve yogurt shop in 2014, the business at the corner of Washington and Third streets has provided a comfortable family-oriented space for all to enjoy.

“We had the idea to bring something new to town,” Tami said. “I really enjoy being a part of the thriving downtown area.”

Yoop-phoria provides real yogurt, making the treat a healthy choice, at only 120 calories for a small cup. The tart yogurt includes active cultures and healthy probiotics which helps give Yoop-phoria its delicious signature taste.

Yoop-phoria can be enjoyed year-round with over 24 rotating flavors to tempt your taste buds throughout the year.

At any given point of time, the store has eight rotating tart and sweet yogurt flavors, soft-serve ice cream and non-dairy options, around 36 toppings, waffle cones and bowls, smoothies, crepes, push-up pops, floats, coffee, hot chocolate and drinks.

Another item found on Yoop-phoria’s menu is a “muffin break,” which consists of a delectable muffin, yogurt and three toppings of choice. The muffins used for the popular item are made by local favorite Huron Mountain Bakery.

The variety of toppings are a big hit with customers, Tami said.

From cold to dry options, one thing’s for sure — there’s something for everyone.

Cold topping options include strawberries, raspberries, kiwi, blackberries, pineapple, mango, popping bobos, and blueberries.  Fruit options may vary by season as Yoop-phoria only provides fresh fruit that’s never frozen.

Dry topping options are Heath pieces, Snicker pieces, Butterfinger pieces, Oreo pieces, graham cracker crumbs, granola, chocolate covered sunflower seeds, Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Pebbles, Fruit Loops, Cocoa Krispies, brownie bites, cookie dough bites, Reese’s peanut butter cups, Reese’s pieces, gummy bears, gummy worms and cheese cake bites.

Yogurt is priced by weight after customers create their delicious concoctions.

Yogurt lovers also have the option of purchasing Gurt to Go by the pint. Besides Yoop-phoria, the yogurt pints are found at Econo Foods, the Marquette Food Co-op and Jim’s Jubilee in Ishpeming.

In the spring, Yoop-phoria is going to add savory crepes to the menu to bring something different but still fitting to the establishment.

Yoop-phoria provides a comfortable setting that’s perfect for study groups, families and friends. There are stacks of board and card games and occasionally live music for entertainment.

To keep things intriguing, Yoop-phoria offers several fun specials throughout the week.

There’s:

– Weigh in Wednesday — if the customer guesses how much their yogurt creation weighs correctly, they get it for free!

– Top it off Thursday — an additional two toppings can be added after a customer pays for their concoction, free of charge!

– Social Saturday — on all Yoop-phoria social media outlets, such as Facebook and Instagram, a saying or word will be posted on Saturday’s. If a customer repeats what the phrase is at the store they’ll get 20-25 percent off of their purchase.

A variety of other specials are occasionally posted on Yoop-phoria’s social media sites so make sure to like and follow the pages to discover everything the popular shop has to offer!
