The Marquette United Soccer Club Under-17 girls team won its second consecutive tournament championship at the Summer Shootout held in Appleton, Wis., June 22-23. These girls opened the first day with a 2-1 win over Marshfield, Wis., Inferno before shutting out Ashwaubenon, Wis., 2-0. On day 2, Marquette blanked Thunder Area of northeasatern Wisconsin 4-0, and in the championship game, defaeted IGH Ohana Heat of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., 1-0. The MUSC team has one more tourney this summer, the USA Cup at Blaine, Minn., the largest youth soccer event in the Western Hemisphere from July 12-14.
