U.P. Insurance, Meyer Vision stay on top in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING — The division leaders kept winning in Week 13 of the Ishpeming City Basketball League.

Class A leader Upper Peninsula Insurance knocked off Bell Forest 72-54 as the winners were led by Anthony Katona with 36 points and teammate Brett Branstrom 21. Bell’s Boone Bell scored 19 while his teammate Brandon Sayen added 11.

Class B leader Meyer Vision upended Tino’s/Cognition 63-48 with Jon Whitaker scoring 27 and Jason Beasley 21. Tino’s got 14 from Mitch Messing.

Gauthier Insurance pulled out a 63-52 win over Pella Windows as Mike Rubic had 13 and Dan Makela 12 for the winners.

Republic picked up its third win of the season in a 63-48 decision over Coldwell Banker. Ryan Antilla and Brian Mattila each scored 16 points for the winning cause, while Kendrick Saunders put in 23 points for Coldwell.
