Legion horseshoe pitchers remain atop division
ISHPEMING – Household Appliance extended their lead in the Classic League standings with a 12-6 win over American Legion in the Ishpeming Twilight Horseshoe League. Household’s record is now 6-1-0.
In other Classic League action, Paradise Bar defeated Willey’s Tire Shop 10-8 and Cascade Inn took down Negaunee VFW 11-7.
In the Major League, Stonehouse beat Pine Grove Bar 12-6 to improve its record to 6-1-0. In the other matchup, Maki’s Mini-Mart defeated Riverside Club 10-8.
On June 15, Household Appliance moved into a tie for first place in the Classic with a decisive 16-2 victory over Paradise Bar on June 15.
Former leader American Legion managed a 9-9 tie against Cascade Inn, while Negaunee VFW upended Willey’s Tire Shop 11-7.
In the Major Division, Stonehouse edged Riverside Club 10-8 while Pine Grove Bar doubled up Maki’s Mini Mart 12-6.
On June 8 in the Classic Division, Legion defeated Paradise 15-3, Household Appliance dropped Negaunee VFW 12-6 and Willey’s and Cascade tied 9-9.
In the Major Division, Stonehouse moved into a half-game lead with 12-6 win over Pine Grove Bar, while former coleader Maki’s Mini-Mart tied Riverside Club 9-9.
Gwinn Mixed Doubles
5 Girls & A Guy clinched the first half title with a 12-6 victory over Hideaway last Thursday.
In other matches, Flingers & Ringers bounced Flying Iron 14-4 and The Pit Bosses edged Lords of the Ringers 10-8.
On June 16, 5 Girls & A Guy flew past Flying Iron 13-5, Drunk Uncle doubled up Lords of the Ringers 12-6 and Hideaway slid past Flingers & Ringers 11-7.
On June 9, Hideaway held onto the top spot in the league with a 13-5 victory over Flying Iron.
In other matches, 5 Girls and A Guy defeated Flingers & Ringers 11-7 while Pit Bosses edged Drunk Uncle 10-8.
