MARQUETTE – Senior Lance Rambo of Marquette Senior High School was the lone Upper Peninsula representative at the Michigan Indoor Track Series finals held at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids on Feb. 27.
Athletes from every division in the state who had run-qualifying times at an earlier indoor meet earned an invitation to these indoor track finals.
Rambo finished fourth overall in the mile in 4 minutes, 27 seconds. Abe Visser of Grandville won the race in 4:20, followed by Anthony Berry of Traverse City in 4:21 and Dominic Dimambro of Fenton in 4:25.
Rambo qualified during a Michigan Indoor Track Series meet held at Aquinas College two weeks earlier when he clocked 4:32.07, about five seconds faster than the qualifying time needed.
