Boys get hoops win as Marquette visits Muskegon

MUSKEGON — The Marquette Senior High School girls basketball team had a bit of a rough trip against some good Lower Peninsula competition over the weekend, losing a pair of games in Muskegon to fall to 0-3 after one week of the season. Meanwhile the Sentinels boys team split its games played at the same schools as part of doubleheaders on back-to-back days. Sentinels pull out swim victories over U.P. rivals

MARQUETTE — Marquette set the tone for its high school swimming and diving season with a home sweep of boys and girls triangular meets against two top contenders, Houghton and Sault Ste. Marie, on Saturday. The Sentinels girls scored 133 points for a fairly comfortable victory as Houghton finished with 107 and the Soo 77.
