Westwood doubles teams lift Patriots to win over Escanaba

ESCANABA — The Westwood boys tennis team notched another victory Friday afternoon as it defeated Escanaba 5-3.
The Patriots’ strength came from the doubles side as the teams of Jacob Adriano and Zach Niemi (No. 1), Hudson Uren and Connor Traver (No. 2) and Jack Mattias and Nathan Ostlund (No. 3) all earned two-set victories.
In the singles competitions, Westwood split the four matches with Anthony Couveau earning a two-set win at the No. 2 spot and Matt Paavo notching a two-set victory in the No. 4 match.
The Patriots host Negaunee on May 2.
