Marquette Senior High School boys wins Upper Peninsula Soccer Finals

The Marquette Senior High School boys varsity soccer team won the championship of the Upper Peninsula Soccer Finals held at Kaufman Sports Complex in Marquette on Oct. 14. Behind the goalkeeping of Ben Noble, the Redmen won both of their games with shutouts. In the first game, a 2-0 win over Escanaba-Bayside, goals were scored by Eli Pickard in the first half and Evan Phillips in the second half with two assists credited to Trevor Salmon and one each to Raffey Millado and Hunter Sides. MSHS also defeated Sault Ste. Marie 3-0 with all the goals coming in the final three minutes scored by Nico Vermaat, Matt Salo and RIley Lindberg.
