MANISTIQUE — The Westwood wrestling teams won all five of its dual matches Saturday afternoon at the Manistique Duals.
The Patriots defeated Negaunee (60-15), Gwinn (59-16), Newberry (49-20), Ishpeming (45-30) and the host Emeralds (40-33).
“Our young guys stepped it up and brought home a victory,” Westwood head coach Dan Carlson said.
“Freshmen Joe DeRocha and Kurt Anderson pulled out some big wins for us. We have been having a great year and I thanks all of these wrestlers for working hard to make it happen. I didn’t how exactly today would go for us, due to injuries ad illness, but this is a group of strong-willed wrestlers.
“We have great upperclassmen who have been leading by example and I couldn’t be prouder of our team.”
