MARQUETTE – Ryan Knox-Leonard of Northern Michigan University has been named the GLIAC Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week after his performance at a meet hosted by Wabash College.

The league made the announcement Wednesday.

“Ryan had a great meet last weekend, winning both his individual events and anchoring his relay in a respectable time in the 50 freestyle,” Northern head coach Heidi Voight said.

“He’s getting stronger as our season goes on.”

Knox-Leonard was the lone triple winner for the Wildcats on the men’s side, capturing the 100-yard backstroke (51.56), 200 individual medley (1:54.84) and swimming a leg with the 200 medley relay.

The Wildcats host their final home event, the Wildcat Intrasquad meet, at 11 a.m. Saturday at the PEIF pool.
