Wildcat golfers place 11th

FINDLAY, Ohio – Shooting a 694 score over two days on the par-72 Findlay (Ohio) Country Club course, the Northern Michigan University women’s golf team finished 11th at the William Bing-Beall Classic over the weekend.

“The team stayed focused despite the obstacles on the course,” NMU assistant coach Bob Bastian said as the Wildcats shot 339 in its opening round and 355 in the second.

Karissa Guthrie (83-83-166) led Northern, tying for 26th. Baylee Dunmire (85-86-171) tied for 39th and Megan Sarotte (83-93-176) tied for 59th.

Grand Valley State (310-304-614) claimed the team title, while host Findlay (317-308-625) came in a close second. GVSU’s Gabrielle Shipley (75-74-149) won the individual title.
