NMU soccer win streak snapped
ALLENDALE – The winning streak has come to a halt for the Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team.
The Wildcats snapped their five-game streak when they lost at No. 4 Grand Valley State 7-0 on Sunday afternoon.
NMU (5-8 overall, 5-4 GLIAC) were unable to overcome the Lakers’ high-powered offense. Kendra Stauffer posted four goals, while Marti Corby, Katie Klunder and Katie Bounds also scored.
GV held the edge in shots, 30-4, and corner kicks, 2-0. Alexandra Simmons recorded four saves while Caroline Glantz also saw time in net, posting five saves.
The Wildcats returns home to face Saginaw Valley State at 4 p.m. Friday.
