MARQUETTE – The Northern Michigan University Nordic skiing team will be adding five student athletes next season.

Nicole Schneider, Sarah Bezdicek, Sophie McDonald and Lea Buenter will be joining the women’s team and Leo Hipp will be joining the men’s team.

Schneider, Bezdicek and McDonald were all top 10 finishers at the US National Junior Championships, with McDonald finishing in the top five. McDonald also previously signed with the NMU cross country team.

Buenter took third place at the Swiss Ski Championships last season.

Hipp was the Minnesota State High School champion and a top 10 skier at the 2015 US Junior Olympics.
