Lundgren leads NMU golfers

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Northern Michigan University sophomore Emil Lundgren shot a one-under-par 71 to lead the Wildcats golf team during the first round of the two-day NCAA Great Lakes Regional IV on Sunday.

The Wildcats are tied for seventh place in the 31-team field with a four-man score of 296 after Day 1. NMU is just four strokes back of leader Missouri-St. Louis.

Lundgren is tied for 10th place individually after he recorded four birdies. Sophomore teammate Dustin Dishaw carded Northern’s second-best score of 73, good for an 18th-place tie. Wildcats senior Ayrton Mantha and sophomore Hunter Mires each shot 76 and are tied for 60th, while NMU freshman Austin Elsner had 78.

This NCAA Great Lakes tournament concludes today.
