NMU skiers national all-academic

MARQUETTE – Fourteen Northern Michigan University Nordic skiers were named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team, the U.S. Collegiate Ski Coaches Association announced on Friday.

These Wildcats are part of 276 student-athletes from 29 schools named.

A student needs a 3.5 overall grade-point average and competed at a NCAA regional championship to be eligible.

These are the 14 from NMU, listed alphabetically with year in school and hometown – Kristen Bourne, soph., Lake Elmo, Minnesota; Hannah Boyer, jr., Fairbanks, Alaska; Kyle Bratrud, sr., Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Caroline Brisbois, fresh., Falcon Heights, Minnesota; Felicia Gesior, jr., Waukesha, Wisconsin; Vera Gruber, fresh., Leutkirch, Germany; Vivian Hett, fresh., Burnsville, Minnesota; Adam Martin, soph., Wausau, Wisconsin; Jordyn Ross, sr., Lakeville, Minnesota; Sophie Schimpl, soph., Zwettl, Austria; Rebekka Schueder, fresh., Sparneck, Germany; Fredrik Schwencke, soph., Oslo, Norway; Erik Soderman, sr., Njurunda, Sweden; Ian Torchia, fresh., Rochester, Minnesota.
