MARQUETTE – Northern Michigan University women’s basketball player Alyssa Colla has been named to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team.

The College Sports Information Directors of America announced the selection Wednesday.

Colla is majoring in public relations. She holds a 3.91 grade-point average while being the second-highest scorer in the GLIAC, averaging 17.8 points per game.

The senior guard has been named All-GLIAC twice in her career, Second Team as a sophomore and First Team as a junior.

Colla also earned a spot on the GLIAC All-Defensive team the past two seasons.

Colla was also honored as a member of the Daktronics, Inc., All-Midwest Region Second Team last season after averaging 16.4 points per game and scoring at least 20 points in 10 games.
