5 Wildcats in NCAA swim finals
MARQUETTE – Five members of the Northern Michigan University swimming and diving team were chosen to compete at the NCAA Division II Championships to be held March 10-14 in Indianapolis.
Senior divers Molly Kearney and Sophia Garris will participate in the prequalifying event, while three NMU swimmers will also compete.
Senior Debbi Lawrence will compete in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle, the 100 butterfly and the 100 backstroke or 200 free. Fellow senior Madisen Sechena will be in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. Finally, sophomore Rachel Borchardt will take part in the 1,650, 1,000, 500 and 200 free.
NMU recently finished third at the GLIAC Championships and was ranked 13th in the CSCAA rankings.
