NMU’s Schueder 3rd in ski sprint

HOUGHTON – The Northern Michigan University nordic ski team finished the U.S. Championships Saturday with the 1.5-kilometer freestyle sprint and one member was able to finish in the top 10.

Freshman Rebekka Schueder took third place in the junior women’s final with a time of 4 minutes, 40.42 seconds. Five other women advanced to the quarterfinals with Caroline Brisbois finishing the highest of the five in 20th place.

Kyle Bratrud was the only NMU men’s skier to make it to the quarterfinals, where he finished 19th.

The Wildcats’ next meet is the Telemark Super Tour on Saturday in Wayward, Wisconsin.
