Marquette posts quintet of 4-time swim, dive winners

MARQUETTE — Five swimmers and divers each won four events for Marquette Senior High School as the Sentinels swamped Manistique at a high school boys and girls swimming and diving meet held at the MSHS pool on Friday. The Marquette girls prevailed 129-47 while the Sentinels boys were triumphant 119-44. Gold Medal Classic basketball spots filling fast

HERMANSVILLE — Things are shaping up for another successful tournament with the entry deadline approaching for the 87th Gold Medal Classic independent basketball tournament. This year’s edition of the historic 11-day tournament will be held March 12-22 at the Frank Rodman Community Club in Hermansville. Entry deadline is March 6, with three of the adult classes already filled, according to tournament director Bryan Maule.
