NEGAUNEE — Krystal Heikkinen hit a home run and Chastity Hudson smacked two triples to lead Willey’s Tire Shop to the narrowest of victories, 20-19 over Signs Unlimited on opening night action in Class B of the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on Wednesday. Dewitt cracks 5 hits in Sentinels’ softball sweep

MARQUETTE — Eva Dewitt collected five hits to support teammates Charlye Swajanen and Makayla Gustafson, who got the complete-game pitching victories, as the Marquette Senior High School softball team swept Kingsford in a doubleheader played Thursday in Marquette. The Sentinels have one more regular-season doubleheader remaining, at home against Menominee at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, before playing in the MHSAA Division 1 district tournament at Traverse City West next Saturday. Smith notches hole-in-one at Red Fox Run

K.I. SAWYER — Let the in-house experts show the way at the Red Fox Run Golf Course. And the expert on Monday was assistant pro shop manager Buryl Smith, who recorded a hole-in-one at the K.I.
