Hytinen cracks 3 homers for Paradise Bar

NEGAUNEE — Hailey Hytinen cranked three home runs while going 4 for 5 to lead Paradise Bar to a 21-13 victory over Dee’s Nuts in a Class B game in the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on Wednesday.

Teammate Erin Swenor went 5 for 5, each of her hits a double, while the winners’ Katie Mitchell was 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles and Kylie Tobias hit a homer and triple.

Dee’s Stacy Sibley went 4 for 4 and Deanna Mingay and Caylie Kangas each 3 for 3, Mingay collecting that rarest of birds, a bunt triple.

Also in Class B, Olivia Negilski went 4 for 5 while hitting a homer over the fence as the Eagles bounced Pineshears 20-5. The Eagles’ Makenze Gerding was also 4 for 5, collecting a homer, triple and double, while Jess Geist was 5 for 5 with a double.

Pineshears’ Toni Tikkanen was 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles, while Chelsea Roberts was 3 for 3 with a homer and double.

Amy Williams cracked a homer and triple while Krystal Heikkinen homered as Willey’s Tire Shop scored a 19-6 triumph over Barron’s Auto Repair, whose Tammy Duquette tripled.

Leah Dompierre tripled to pace Signs Unlimited to a 21-5 victory over Palomaki Family Chiropractic, whose Michelle Lusardi hit a homer.

Quality Car Care received a bye.

In Class A, Marie Salisbury went 5 for 5 with five RBIs and Sophia Nerlfi 4 for 5 with two RBIs to lead Congress Pizzas to a 24-12 double-up of Pasquali’s, whose Alana Nuorala was 2 for 2 with a homer and three RBIs.

Also in “A,” Delany McLaughlin, Shaylee Menhennick and Samantha Makela each hit a triple to help River Rock slip by with a 14-10 win over LaCosse & Associates, whose Moganne Borman also tripled.

Gabby Hebert went 5 for 5 while teammate Taylor Oakland homered as Jasper Ridge Brewery scored an 18-11 victory over Dave’s Collision-Jack’s, whose Mel Maddock went 4 for 4 and Libbie Doney had a “beautiful hit.”

And all-around good hitting was credited for Phil and Lee’s 34-4 triumph over Tino’s, who Miranda Roose, Alex Forchini and Taryn Myers all doubled.
