SC’s Kroupa, Charlebois double up on Skyline Central boys honors

ESCANABA — Superior Central High School won five awards and Munising picked up three when the Skyline Central Conference released its all-conference teams in boys basketball recently.
A pair of Cougars juniors each won two awards.
Ryder Kroupa not only was placed on the Skyline Central Second Team, but he won the league’s Free Throw Award.
And teammate Andrew Charlebois earned all-conference honorable mention while also winning a place on the Skyline Central All-Defensive Team.
SC’s other award was the league’s Team Sportsmanship Award.
From Munising, it was a trio of seniors earning the Mustangs honors.
Nolan Connaughton won a spot on the Skyline Central First Team, Jaxson Malone on the All-Defensive Team and Dylan Adkinson for honorable mention.
Among the other major awards meted out was junior Vic Giuliani of Forest Park as Player of the Year, Forest Park’s Jason Price as Coach of the Year, Norway senior Anthony Pineda as Defensive MVP and junior Jae Poma of Rapid River for Individual Sportsmanship.
Forest Park had the best overall varsity league record at 8-0, with North Dickinson the best of the Small Schools at 7-2. Norway won the overall JV best record at 8-1, while North Central and North Dickinson shared best Small Schools JV mark, also at 8-1.
