MARQUETTE — Ten swimmers from the Wildcat Aquatics Club competed at the senior state championships and the 10-years-and-under championships from Feb. 27 to March 2.
Swimmers qualified for the meet by meeting required time standards during the season, which started in September.
Five swimmers competed at the Wisconsin Short Course Senior State Championships in Brown Deer, Wisconsin, in a format that include preliminaries held before the finals, so that swimmers had to place in the top 32 during the morning preliminary rounds to advance to finals in the evening. The Senior Wildcat Aquatics team placed fourth among Division 3 teams, with points being earned for top-24 finishes in the finals.
Henrik Larsen, 16, of Marquette advanced to the finals in each of his six events, finishing ninth in the 200-yard freestyle with a best time of 1:42.62, 11th in the 200 butterfly with a best time of 1:56.05, 12th in the 100 fly with a best time of 51.60 seconds, 14th in the 100 free with a best time of 47.40, 17th in the 50 fly with a best time of 23.77, and 26th in the 50 free with a best time of 20.03.
