More than 180 athletes participated in six age divisions for both boys and girls, with the vast majority of entrants from the MMRT.
The skiers from ages 6 to 18 tested their skills with two slalom runs and two giant slalom runs at a meet that memorializes the late Chris Rumney, a Marquette native who loved ski racing and died in 1984.
MMRT said it plans to host a half-dozen races at Marquette Mountain this winter, each inviting young skiers from around the U.P.
Organizers thanked sponsors Downwind Sports and the Marquette Rotary Club, MMRT coaches and the Marquette Mountain Resort for its support of the program.
