Patriots girls win for 2nd time in 3 games at Gwinn

GWINN — Westwood won for the second time in three games after posting a 35-27 victory at Gwinn in a high school girls basketball game played Tuesday night.

The Patriots improved to 3-7 as Lyn Magnuson led all scorers with 14 points. Despite the relative low score of the game, eight Westwood players reached the scoring column.

Adeline Derwin paced the Modeltowners (4-4) with nine points, while teammate Makayla Delmont had seven.

After the Patriots were scheduled to play at Ishpeming on Thursday, Westwood opens next week with a home game vs. Houghton at 7:15 p.m. Monday.

Gwinn’s next game is also at 7:15 p.m. Monday at home vs. Manistique.
