KINGSFORD — The Marquette Senior High School wrestling team finished runner-up among 16 teams at the Ray Mariucci Invitational held in Kingsford on Jan. 10.

Four Sentinels reached championship matches, three coming away with titles — Trent Sadler, Beepsee Teeple and Connor D’Ambrosio.

Teammate Antanie Villarello finished as a runner-up but also had a notable day, pinning an opponent that had defeated him twice earlier this season.

Picking up third-place finishes were Marquette’s Harland Dombrowski, Levi Ellis and Ty Sadler, while Eric Gerou came in sixth.

Boyne City captured the team title with 194 points as the Sentinels were a quite competitive second with 181. Escanaba was third with 153.
