PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — Former Carney-Nadeau High School standout golfer Hunter Eichhorn finished in a tie for sixth place on Wednesday at his inaugural event as a full-time member of the Korn Ferry Tour.
He shot a nifty 22-under-par over four rounds at the Bahamas Golf Classic, even though he had his highest round on the final day, a 3-under 69 that dropped him three spots from third place where he had been at the end of Tuesday.
His earlier rounds were 67, 65 and 65 for 266.
On Wednesday, Eichhorn, 26, had a string of five holes on the front nine when he had three birdies, a par and a bogey, but otherwise his round was all pars save for a birdie at No. 15.
With this also being the first event of the Korn Ferry year, he resides in a tie for sixth place in the season standings.
He was listed as winning $27,807 in official prize money for his finish, bringing his career earnings in 13 Korn Ferry events to $82,431. Of those 13, he’s made the cut five times with a top-five finish, too.
Eichhorn has exempt status from qualifying at the PGA Tour Q-School in 2025.
He now lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, after having played golf at Marquette University in Milwaukee.
Completing his collegiate career in 2022, among his many achievements there is being Marquette’s all-time leader in scoring average at 71.38 strokes per 18-hole round, along with several other scoring records.
He set Marquette’s record for an 18-hole round of 11-under 61 in February 2022 and 54-hole score of 13-under 203 in the same event, winning six collegiate tournaments and twice being named Big East player of the year.
In the Upper Peninsula, he won four MHSAA U.P. Finals titles in Division 3 culminating in the 2018 title as a senior, and was also the 2018 U.P. Golf Association annual tournament champion.
Fellow Amerian Taylor Dickson won the Bahamas Golf Classic with a 27-under 261 after a final-round 66, taking the title by three shots over runner-up Roger Sloan of Canada.
