Tech hockey announces in-game promotions

HOUGHTON — The Michigan Tech athletic department is bringing back several of its popular promotions during hockey games at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena this season.

They include Zamboni rides, birthday wishes and the kids’ player of the game.

More information on these each of these is available at MTU’s official ticketing website, mtu.universitytickets.com.

Here are some of the features of these promotions:

• Zamboni rides — For $20 per ride and having a ticket to that game, fans 12 years and older can ride on the resurfacing vehicle during an intermission of a Huskies game.

• Birthday requests — For $10 per request, a birthday announcement will be made on the arena video board and announced on the public address system.

• Kids’ player of the game — The Michigan Kids Can Player of the Game is available for students up to eighth grade, with four free game tickets as the winner chosen at random also gets announced with the MTU team’s starting lineup.
