Terzaghi powers Signs Unlimited past Willey’s

NEGAUNEE — Erin Terzaghi hit three home runs and her team needed every one of them as Signs Unlimited pulled out a 12-10 victory over Willey’s Tire Shop in Class B of the Iron Range Women’s Softball League on Aug. 13.

Becca LaChapelle added a triple to the winning effort, while Willey’s was paced by Brooke Mitchell going 3 for 4 and Lindsay Williams tripling.

In another “B” game, Livvie Denofre and Chelsey Wunder each went 4 for 4 as Pineshears squeezed out an even closer 8-7 triumph over the Elks Lodge.

Denofre had a homer among her hits and Wunder a double as teammate Kathy Johnson also doubled. The Elks’ Taylor Jackovich and Karlie Kargela each were 3 for 3.

Hailey Hytinen did a little of everything and a lot of power hitting as she hit an over-the-fence grand slam homer and another “regular” homer while going 5 for 6 as Paradise Bar raced past Palomaki Family Chiropractic 23-7.

Teammate Katie Mitchell also hit an over-the-fencer, while Mariah Heard had a home run while going 5 for 6. And the winners’ Jennifer Hytinen-Polkki was 5 for 5 and Kathy Maynard 4 for 5.

Palomaki’s Krystal Bergman, who doubled, and Jenn Williams each were 3 for 4 while Katie Trudgeon hit a triple.

Kassy Antilla hit a pair of triples and a double as Tino’s ran past Quality Car Care 25-4.

The winners’ Paige Willey pumped in a trio of doubles, while Randi Roose and Chelsea Belanger added a double apiece.

QCC’s Connie Kontio was 3 for 4 while Becky Moyle was 2 for 3.

In Class A, Macey Nault hit a grand slam homer, another homer and was 3 for 3 as Dave’s Collision-Jack’s raced to a 27-2 win over the Eagles.

Dave’s-Jack’s Amanda Lotterman also homered, while Megan Alderton was 4 for 4 with what were called “great hits.”

Jess Geist paced the Eagles with a pair of what were referred to as “good” hits as she scored a run.

Also in “A,” Bethany Suomi homered, hit two doubles and finished 4 for 4 with four RBIs as Pasquali’s doubled up LaCosse & Associates 14-7.

The winners’ Thalicia DelAngelo was also 4 for 4 with four RBIs, while Tayler Gray hit a pair of doubles and was a third Pasquali’s player with four runs knocked in.

LaCosse was paced by Morgan Kowalski and Cassidy Orr each hitting a double and collecting two RBIs.

Terri Tammelin, who homered, and Amanda Harlock, who tripled, both were 3 for 4 as Barrel + Beam brewed up a 20-4 win over Congress Pizzas, whose Emma Wills was 2 for 2.

And Kenzie Karki was 4 for 4 and Cooper Atkins homered as River Rock eked out a 14-7 win over Jasper Ridge Brewery, whose Hannah Messing tripled.
